Performative research methods

“So what of research methods? Our argument is that these are performative. By

this we mean that they have effects; they make differences; they enact realities;

and they can help to bring into being what they also discover” (p. 392-393).

“if method is interactively performative, and helps to make realities,

then the differences between research findings produced by different methods

or in different research traditions have an alternative significance” (p. 397).
